Aghogho Sickle Cell Care Foundation addresses the critical gaps in care, awareness, and prevention for individuals affected by sickle cell disease in Nigeria, which has the highest burden of the condition globally. Many sickle cell warriors face frequent crises, limited access to medications, inadequate nutrition, and lack of psychosocial support, affecting their health and quality of life. The foundation uses a holistic, community-centered approach through initiatives like Project Sickle Care, providing medication, health insurance, counseling, nutritional support, and community outreach.

In addition, the foundation conducts research to advance sickle cell knowledge and treatment, including studies on the antisickling effects of medicinal plants, which inform evidence-based interventions and improve patient care. Youth-driven advocacy programs also empower young adults to educate communities, reduce stigma, and promote preventive practices. The primary beneficiaries are individuals living with sickle cell disease, their families, caregivers, and communities, ensuring sustainable improvements in health, awareness, and quality of life.
