SOO-DAWI · Good Health and Well-being · Nigeria · 2026

SOO-DAWI addresses the growing but often overlooked burden of diabetes in Nigeria, particularly among under-resourced communities where late diagnosis, poor awareness, and limited access to care lead to preventable complications and deaths. The initiative focuses on early awareness, screening, and practical wellness education, using community-based outreach, simplified health education, and partnerships with healthcare providers to bridge gaps in access. SOO-DAWI demystifies diabetes by translating complex health information into relatable, culturally relevant messages and promotes early testing, lifestyle management, and referral pathways for care.

Target beneficiaries include adolescents and adults in low-income and rural and peri-urban communities, informal workers, traders, and individuals without regular access to healthcare, smartphones, or internet connectivity. By prioritising prevention and early intervention, SOO-DAWI aims to reduce avoidable health crises and improve long-term well-being at the grassroots level.
