Rays of Hope Support Initiative (ROHSI) · Good Health and Well-being · Nigeria · 2026
In underserved communities of Ibadan, Nigeria, hypertension and diabetes (NCDs) often go untreated. Residents face significant barriers, including low health literacy, a lack of real-time medical guidance, and the inability to afford essential medications. ROHSI employ a grassroots strategy, collaborating with local health authorities and Community Development Associations through their executives to bring care directly to residents' doorsteps.
We combine advocacy, free medical screenings, and health education with a community platform created for real-time expert interaction with the community people living with hypertension and diabetes. By sourcing funds and building strategic partnerships, we have been able to provide medications and follow-up care at no cost to our community people. Our initiative serves underserved adults and the elderly in Ibadan living with hypertension or type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
This list specifically includes undiagnosed individuals and those who are aware of their condition but lack the financial means to manage it.
